Our little boy decided he wanted to arrive in time for the Memorial Day festivities! At 4AM today, I started to have contractions. By 5:30 the contractions were about six minutes apart and I had a little bit of blood in my urine and some vomiting. We called the doctor who told us to come to the hospital. I progressed to contractions that were three minutes apart on our ride to the hospital. After being examined, I was 4 centimeters and was admitted. I got my epidural about an hour or so later and progressed to 8 centimeters by 10:30ish but the baby hadn't moved down much. By 11, I was 9 and a half centimeters, but the baby was still high up. The doctor anticipated me pushing by noon, and lowered my pain medication. By noon, baby still hadn't moved down and, due to swelling, was back to 8 or 9 centimeters. 

 

Long story short, by 1 the doctors decided I would be a c-section and Evan James was born at 2:06. He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 inches long. I feel pretty good although everyone says tomorrow I feel feel some pain. Evan is eating his formula like a champ and he is just the most precious little boy. My husband and I are infatuated with Evan and can't believe we made this perfect little boy.

    Congratulations on your baby boy!  My son was born on May 26th, and he celebrated his 2nd birthday today.  It is a great birthday!  Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend!
